- APCIA Hails U.S. - Japan Digital Trade Agreement
Washington, D.C.- Dave Snyder, vice president of international at the American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) issued the following statement regarding the signing of the U.S. — Japan agreement on digital trade:
“APCIA commends U.S. and Japanese negotiators for working to ensure an agreement includes data access and storage provisions, which are critically important to insurers and the services they provide to consumers. Access to and use of data are fundamental to insurance risk assessment, risk mitigation, and claims settlement. We look forward to reviewing the full text of the agreement. We urge U.S. and Japanese delegates to include comprehensive financial services trade commitments in the next stages of negotiations.”
