  • APCIA Supports Legislation Promoting a Healthy Civil Justice System
  • TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) today released the following statement attributed to its assistant vice president of state government relations, Logan McFaddin, in favor of House Bill 9, by Representative Tom Leek (R-Ormond Beach), relating to Damages, which passed the House Judiciary Committee today.

“APCIA commends the members of the House Judiciary Committee for advancing legislation to the House floor today that will help restore fairness to Florida’s legal system and reduce consumer costs.

“HB 9 will address plaintiffs attorneys inflating medical expenses in personal injury claims in attempts to receive mega payouts. As this bill is readied for the full House, APCIA encourages support of this good public policy that promotes a healthy civil justice system.”
