Extreme Drought Conditions in California Raise Wildfire Concerns
PCI Says Now is the Time to Prepare Physically and Financially
After three years of dry conditions and a record breaking dry winter, there are wildfire concerns in California and fire officials are urging consumers to take precautions to prevent and prepare for wildfires. Meanwhile, the remainder of the nation has an average or normal wildfire outlook through March, according to the National Interagency Wildfire Center.
PCI says now is the time for individuals, families and businesses in wildfire-prone areas to get financially and physically prepared to prevent and mitigate damage. Taking simple steps like preparing a home inventory, updating your insurance and clearing debris around the home can make a difference if a wildfire breaks out. Across the country insurers prepare year round to tackle fire risks and remain prepared to assist homeowners and renters.
Through PCI’s Wildfire Headquarters homeowners and renters can learn more about what they can do to get their homes, finances and property ready for wildfire in 2014.
