Industry Issues | Accident Tax Fighting Accident Response Fees Local Governments Capitalizing on Motorist Misfortune The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) is a vocal opponent of municipalities charging accident response fees when police or fire department personnel respond to a traffic accident. Public safety is a basic role of government and it's paid for through state and local taxes. These fees are a new attempt to raise revenues, without directly raising taxes.
