PCI Releases Credit-Based Insurance Scoring Video

PCI’s latest video, “What Consumers Should Know about Credit-Based Insurance Scoring” highlights how the use of credit information helps consumers save money. A report issued in July 2009 by the Arkansas Insurance Department found that by three-to-one insurance scores helped consumers pay lower premiums. Insurers consider credit information to rate and price business with a greater degree of accuracy and certainty. By considering credit information, along with other familiar factors such as driving experience, previous claims, and vehicle age, insurers are able to develop a more complete picture of a consumer’s risk characteristics. As a result, low risk consumers pay less for insurance.
