Marguerite Murer Tortorello
Senior Vice President, Public Affairs

Marguerite Murer Tortorello is the senior vice president, public affairs for
PCI where she advances advocacy initiatives through traditional and social
media efforts, grassroots and strategic positioning. While at PCI, she has led
multi-faceted campaigns for issues including the Dodd-Frank Act, underwriting
freedoms, coastal initiatives and accident tax.
Tortorello encourages business engagement in social media strategies and has
been a featured speaker for events such as the U.S. Treasury National
Roundtable on Insurance Literacy, the LIMRA Distribution Leaders Roundtable,
the 2010 Farm Bureau Insurance Managers Conference and the International
Association of Claims Professionals Annual Conference. Under her leadership,
PCI was named a 2010 PR News "Top Place to Work in Public Relations" award
winner and Tortorello was named PR News 2010 "Public Affairs Professional of
the Year."
Tortorello has extensive public affairs experience in the public and private
sectors. Prior to PCI, she worked for Allstate and served for five years in the
President George W. Bush Administration. As special assistant to the President
and director of presidential correspondence, she led the largest office in the
White House with a staff of 65 and over 500 volunteers. Previously, Tortorello
served at the U.S. Department of Commerce, worked for the Texas Rangers
Baseball Team and began her career as a high school teacher.
